2. Auctions

The Dominion Group is one of the few practices that offer a “turn key” approach. From advising on value and compliance issues that may effect a business, through to disposal and auction processes. We walk our clients through the entire valuation/auction process.

Dominion is a fiercely independent advisory practice. We work ethically with the aim of achieving the best possible result for our clients. Our integrity in carrying out auctions or valuations is paramount to our reputation. We will not conduct work or receive instructions where we or the client believes we have a conflict of interest.

Auctioneering

  • At Dominion we have a very simple aim – to target a realistic market value for you, then press all our resources into out-performing it.
  • From onsite auctions to auctions across our national range of auction rooms
  • Strategic advice on asset disposal
  • Strong focus is on the insolvency and banking/finance sectors
  • We collect, value, arrange lots into categories, target potential buyers and deliver a painless professional transparent auctioneering service
  • As a combined auctioneering/valuation practice we are in the market every day and have the strongest understanding as to what expectations we will get for our clients
  • With broad exposure we cover a range of auctioneering environments, from automobiles, boats and mining equipment through to IT, hospitality equipment and all points in between
  • Client interests are our only concern, we do not handle private brokerage or trade in plant, meaning we act as the independent middle man at all times

Range of Auction Service

The merchandise we handle is as diverse as our many clients: aviation, computers, communication equipment, construction, earthmoving, print, transport and mining are just an entrée into the industries we operate within.

Dominion can conduct an auction for you in every capital city within Australia. Weekly room auctions are held across the group. Our team will discuss with you the options available and where we believe we can get the best result for you.

Once your decision is made to conduct an auction, Dominion can arrange every detail for you. We can collect the merchandise, value it, arrange the lots into categories and catalogue them before targeting potential buyers directly through our national mailing lists and advertising within the media.

An additional display of all up coming auctions is found on our web page, with the next upcoming auctions receiving prominence on our national cover page (as well as the individual state page).

Rest assured we also take great care to ensure safeguards are taken to protect the security of your records.

Dominion supervises the collection of goods on their delivery to buyers; the all important collection of proceeds and accounting for each item; the calculation, collection and remittance of GST and finally the transfer of revenue received from the auction to you.

Our belief is to make sure we not only look after our clients best interests on the day of the auction but we continually strive to improve the service we provide.

3. Asset Management

To the Banking and Finance sectors we provide asset inspections of plant to verify identification details and value of plant to ensure the integrity of the information provided is accurate and to show proof of ownership.

For our Banking and Finance clients we create a series of templates in association with them to ensure we not only collect the necessary information but we ensure consistency across all of our operations.
We only send out qualified and experienced valuers to undertake such exercises, even to the extent where we have a dedicated specialist team that concentrate on asset inspections.

4. Tender & Sales

There are times when a specialist piece of equipment will come up that will not fit within the auction process. Two alternatives may then arise as an effective method of disposing of the asset.

Tender – where a direct marketing campaign is created seeking expressions of interest within a certain time constraint;
or
Sale – where the same conditions apply as with a tender but we do not suffer the same time constraints enabling a period of negotiation to take place.
